Poster for Andrzej Wajda’s last film “Afterimage”, which is inspired by the life of Polish painter Władysław Strzemiński. The film tells the story of Stalinism in Poland, when the artist opposed the doctrine of Socialist Realism. Much attention was given to recreating the reality of the era. Art itself plays a large part in the movie, thereby showcasing its role in society.

Plakat do ostatniego filmu Andrzeja Wajdy, „Powidoki”, zainspirowanego biografią polskiego malarza Władysława Strzemińskiego. Film opowiada o okresie stalinizmu w Polsce, gdy artysta sprzeciwił się doktrynie soc-
realizmu. Oprócz dbałości w przeniesieniu ówczesnych realiów na ekran twórcy „Powidoków” poświęcili wiele miejsca samej sztuce i jej roli w życiu społecznym.

Publication design accompanying the exhibition “Black Spring. On Wrocław’s Independent Music Scene of the 1980’s”. It speaks about emotions that may arise in a repressive situation – in this case a socio-political system – including emotions that result from anxiety, but at the same time are an expression of one’s own potential perseverance in a confronting reality. The publication sets the scene by presenting the realities of the 1980’s in Poland as well as Wrocław’s music scene.

XX wieku, a punktem wyjścia muzyka z Wrocławia.

Poster design for the exhibition “W niedalekiej przeszłości” [“In the near past”] at the BWA gallery in Wrocław, during which the history of Łysa Góra – a model village of the communist period famous for the production of ceramics – was presented. In the 1960’s and 70’s it attracted artists with the potential to implement monumental ceramic compositions that could be incorporated into architecture. Today, it provokes other artistic attitudes. The curator, Paweł Olszczyński, studies the closing of the Kamionka cooperative in Łysa Góra. He assumes the role of an artist-researcher, analyzing the phenomenon of the closed ceramic factories. He excerpts and documents the trace evidence of their past activity.

Projekt plakatu do wystawy „W niedalekiej przeszłości” w BWA we Wrocławiu, podczas której zaprezentowano historię Łysej Góry, wzorcowej wsi okresu PRL, słynącej z produkcji ceramiki. W latach 60.–70.

Poster design and visual identification for the “Antistatic” exhibition held at the National Museum in Poznań. The exhibition gathered the works of visual artists from the Intermedia Department of the University of Fine Arts in Poznań – from professors who founded it several years ago, to current PhD students in this innovative department. The Poznań school was the first in Poland to begin education in the field of intermedia. The eponymous “anti-static” emphasizes art’s ability to break free from all restrictions according to the postulate of Italo Calvino, who predicted that in order to survive, art in the 21st century will have to show volatility in moments of great gravity.

Projekt plakatu i identyfikacji wystawy „Antistatic” prezentowanej w Muzeum Narodowym w Poznaniu.

Poster for the exhibition “Beyond Cybis” – a large-scale exhibition of Polish paintings of the twentieth and twenty-first century which encompassed a wide spectrum of works by eminent Polish artists creating trends in major art history and current artistic movements. On the one hand, the exhibition focused on the most important – now historical – aspects which occurred after Jan Cybis. On the other hand its aim is to present works showing the state of contemporary painting, dictated by the need for experimentation and redefinition of what painting can be – which sometimes escapes the framework of a medium usually associated with canvas and paint.

The book “Art Brut Różnorodnie”, edited by Joanna Daszkiewicz and Sonia Rammer, is a bilingual study on the works of “The Raw”. The monographic publication contains various perspectives on the conceptualization of the issue – historical, philosophical, psychological and economic – and consists of two parts. The first is composed of theoretical considerations, while the second is a monograph of Tadeusz Głowala’s work – a brut artist and a resident of the Social Welfare Home in Miszew.
