Book published to accompany the “Living Archives” exhibition, which was an attempt to provide an alternative perspective on photographic archives. Photographer Jakub Certowicz focuses on the archive itself – both as a place and an idea. Certowicz documents three different archives, including the regional collections in the Norwegian town of Lillehammer. By confronting documentary photos of interiors with archive contents, he tries to find the rule behind the madness of collecting and asks the question of how much will remain from these extensive archives.
Książka powstała w ramach wystawy zbiorowej „Żywe Archiwa”, która była próbą alternatywnego spojrzenia na archiwa fotograficzne. Autor zdjęć, Jakub Certowicz, zainspirowany norweskim archiwum w Lillehammer koncentruje się na dokumentacji formy i sposobów funkcjonowania archiwum. Konfrontując dokumentalne fotografie wnętrz z zawartością archiwów stara się znaleźć regułę towarzyszącą obsesji gromadzenia i zadaje pytanie, ile pozostanie z tych obszernych archiwów.
