This project interprets Italo Calvino’s novel If on a Winter’s Night a Traveler, and consists of two books. The first contains the novel’s text, in which key words have been highlighted and numbered in the margins. These numbers refer to the pages of the second book Data, which expands upon the literary plots and terms throughout the novel. The latter is a collection of visual representations of information based on data extracted from the novel’s text. The covers are designed so that one is the negative of the other.
Projekt jest interpretacją powieści Italo Calvino „If on a winter’s night a traveler”. Składa się z dwóch książek. Pierwsza zawiera tekst powieści, w którym pewne słowa klucze zostały wyróżnione i opatrzone numerami na marginesach. Liczby te odsyłają do stron drugiej książki „Data” („dane”), na których pokazany jest rozwój konkretnych wątków i określeń na przestrzeni powieści. Druga książka („data”) to zbiór różnorodnych wizualizacji informacji na podstawie danych, wyekstrahowanych z tekstu powieści. Okładki zaprojektowane są tak, aby każda z nich stanowiła negatyw drugiej.
